Dr Lusanda Bomela is a qualified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon with a practice based in Modderfontein, Johannesburg. Dr Bomela is committed to providing superior patient care in her field of orthopaedics.



  • National – SAOA Durban Conference 2019 Podium Presentation – Management Strategies of Lateral Mass Fractures of the Cervical Spine
  • National – Keynote Address at the SAOA Registrars’ Congress 2018, which was hosted by the University of Pretoria’s Department of Orthopaedics on 15-17 February 2018.
  • International – SAOA/German Orthopaedic Travelling Fellowship 15 May – 15 June 2015, month in Germany. The research and study presented  “Kyphectomy in Children with Severe Myelomeningocele – Related Kyphosis”.
  • National – SAOA Cape Town 2014 Congress podium presentation- “Kyphectomy in children with severe myelomeningocele – related kyphosis
  • National- Co-authored a paper presented at the 58 the SAOA Durban 2012 congress - “ Positron Emission Tomography in the diagnosis of spine infection and infected implants.
  • National - Presented two posters at the 58th SAOA Durban 2012 congress entitled;
